Seminar to help Sunshine Coast business benefit from North Asia FTAs

Local MPs Ted O’Brien and Andrew Wallace are urging Sunshine Coast producers and exporters to register and attend next Wednesday’s seminar hosted by Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Keith Pitt.

It is the first time the seminar will be offered in a regional area and is designed to help businesses on the Sunshine Coast make the most of Australia’s free trade agreements (FTAs) with Korea, Japan and China.
The event, to be held at the Mantra Mooloolaba Beach on 5 October from 10am, will give local businesses the chance to hear first-hand how FTAs can help them succeed in international markets.

“With these FTAs, the Australian Government has secured unprecedented access for Australian goods and services to more than a billion potential customers in our most important markets in North Asia,” Assistant Minister Pitt said.

“The seminar represents a great opportunity for our agricultural producers, our processors and our service providers, it will help explain how the Sunshine Coast can get a fair go and tackle hard across global markets,” Member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien said.

“The Australian Government is determined to support hard-working exporters in regional centres like the Sunshine Coast, through seminars like these,” Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace said.
The free seminar, relevant to all industries, will run from 10am to 12pm. Attendees can register at www.austrade.gov.au/ftaseminars or find out more by contacting Austrade (13 28 78 or [email protected] ).
